theresa passive house

Our design aim for this charming 1914 bungalow's outdoor space was to seamlessly blend sustainable design with function and beauty.

To maximize soft yard space for tiny running feet, we repositioned the front gate and created a beautiful and inviting limestone path leading to the home's entry. The surrounding 4-foot cedar fence provides safety for pets and children alike, while also remaining open and welcoming to neighbors. In the backyard, the homeowner's passion for sustainable design and native plant life is celebrated with a beautiful permaculture garden featuring numerous fruit trees, lemongrass, rosemary, and echinacea to name only a few. All of these elements combine to create an outdoor space that is forward-thinking while simultaneously honoring the historic.
